RUBIS Guyana Inc. recently sponsored over 800 copies of the Guyana Energy Agency (GEA)

booklet entitled, ‘What is Energy’.

Ms. Rhonda Johnson, Retail Account Executive, RUBIS said, “We were pleased to support the efforts of GEA as they work towards educating our youth about the importance of energy in their lives and to foster robust discussions around the topic.” She added, “RUBIS places great emphasis on educational development regionally and we jumped at this opportunity to do the same in Guyana.”

The booklets will be distributed during the 2014/2015 school year, to grade 4 to 6 students within the rural primary school system. Created to encourage further learning through a more entertaining medium, the booklet is divided into the four core subject areas of Maths, English, Science and Social Studies, each designed with the common theme of energy.

Dr. Mahender Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of GEA thanked the energy company for their invaluable support and partnership as the GEA’s seeks to achieve its long term vision to have copies placed in all Guyanese primary schools. He said, “RUBIS’ donations aids the GEA in achieving its vision of having the booklet embraced by Guyana’s energy champions – our children.” He added, ‘They too have the power to conserve energy, thereby making a positive contribution to ‘A Secure and Sustainable Energy Future’ and it is our hope this new relationship will continue to be of mutual benefit to both organizations.”
